Tel-aviv Marathon 2009

My legs are so sore. Ouch. As you can surmise from the title, I ran in the Tel-aviv marathon this morning. I only did the 10k run, but it sounds better if I omit that tiny little fact and just say ‘Marathon’, doesn’t it?

Fellow runners included Tomer, Eitan, LiorG, Oshri, Udi&Guy and about a bazillion other people whom I don’t know. At the starting line right next to me though, was this girl in very fashionable running clothes, with full make-up and earrings, weirder and weirder…

Finally, after weeks of battling through hordes of horrific robot commandos and robot pirates, and actually robot anything, I have overcome emperror Tachyon, flinging his disgusting little body into a black hole! Now I can finally take this blasted game out of my PS3 and move on to another game.

For those of you who are blissfuly ignorant, I am spending my summer in Boston, doing an internship at Adobe. Currently I’m residing in Dover, in a beautiful country house belonging to friends/relatives of my parents, but soon I’ll be moving downtown

Tasting menu dinner

Last night we had a tasting menu dinner, 11 courses (4 appetizers, 4 entrees and 3 deserts) chowed down by 9 diners. It was excellent and a fitting culmination of our culinary adventures, just as Uri and Tamar are leaving for greener pastures. The full set here.

Coming soon to Boston, MA

As some of you (i.e some of the world’s population) might know, I’m leaving soon, on July 15th to be exact to Boston. I’ll be there for three months, interning at Adobe. Specifically I’ll be working with Dr. Shai Avidan on some research projects in machine learning and image processing.

Lilach and Shachar will join me for the month of August, and we’ll all attend Marc and Wolly‘s wedding together, huzzah!

New baking stone + New sourdough = Baked goodness!

We bought a new baking stone two weeks ago, and a few days later I started a new sourdough starter. Its so cold outside (and in) that it took 8(!) days to mature, but now its a bubbly handsome sourdough barm ).

First item on the plate was a home made pizza. I made the dough with yeast, rolled it very thin and covered it with good stuff like sun-dried tomatoes, olives and the best Mozarella this side of Ibn-Gvirol.

Then came the real doozie, a three day sourdough bread. Nothing complex, only white flour, nothing added to it… but it came out so good
